AAP MP Raghav Chadha said that all the national parties in the country get two resources from the central government, first they are given an office space in the country’s capital Delhi and secondly, the national president or national coordinator of the national party is provided government accommodation.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded a new government house for Arvind Kejriwal, who is going to leave the CM residence after resigning from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi. The party has said that being the head of a national party, he has this right and this is not a facility but a resource. The party will also demand this in writing to the central government.
AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chaddha raised this demand in a press conference on Friday. He said that every national party in the country gets two resources from the central government, first they are given an office space in the country’s capital Delhi and secondly, the national president or national coordinator of the national party is provided a government residence.
Chadha said that all the national presidents of Congress, BSP and other national parties including BJP have got government accommodation in Delhi but Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has not got accommodation yet. Raghav Chadha said, ‘We demand from the central government that Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal should be provided government accommodation.’
Raghav Chadha said that a letter is also being written to the Union Urban Housing Development Ministry. When asked whether former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will stay in the Civil Lines house until he gets a government accommodation, Raghav Chadha said that no, he will soon give up all the facilities he gets as the Chief Minister. But being the national convener of a national party, he should legally get the facility of government accommodation. This is the provision of the Election Commission.
