Apple Planning to Make iPhone 16 Pro Models in India

American devices maker Apple’s iPhone 16 series may be launched soon. There is a plan to manufacture the iPhone 16 Pro models of this series in the country. These smartphones can be made available from the first day of sales. For this, Apple can tie-up with existing contract manufacturing firms.

A media Report According to, Apple plans to shift part of its manufacturing in China to other countries. Under this plan, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max can be manufactured in India. This will make the iPhone 16 Pro models available in the country soon after the launch. The report quoted sources as saying that these smartphones can be manufactured at the Tamil Nadu factory of Apple’s contract manufacturer Foxconn. In the last few years, the company has increased its manufacturing in the country.

Recently, a report by ITHome stated that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have support for 40 W wired charging and 20 W wireless charging using MagSafe. The iPhone 15 series featured a USB Type-C port. However, both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro had support for a peak charging speed of 27 W with a compatible USB charger. Apple claims that all variants of the iPhone 15 series can be charged up to 50 percent in 30 minutes using a power adapter of 20 W or more.

The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max may feature a tetraprism 5x zoom lens. Apple used this lens in the iPhone 15 Pro Max introduced last year. According to a report by DigitTimes in Asia, the company plans to increase the use of periscope lenses in the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Because of this, some suppliers of this lens have been given more orders for them. Taiwanese lens module manufacturers Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical may be major suppliers of tetraprism camera components. The iPhone 16 Pro models may feature a 48-megapixel primary camera and an ultra wide-angle camera with optical zoom capabilities.
