Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and strong tribal leader Champai Soren resigned from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on Wednesday. He gave this information in his post on X. In his emotional resignation letter addressed to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren, Champai Soren wrote, “I am upset with the current policies and working style of JMM and am forced to leave the party. The struggle will continue for the issues of tribals, Dalits, backward and common people of Jharkhand.”
I am upset with the current policies of JMM
Senior tribal leader Champai Soren wrote a letter to party chief Shibu Soren saying that he is being forced to leave the post due to his frustration with the current working style and policies of JMM. He wrote- JMM has been like a family to me and I never even dreamed that I would have to leave it.
JMM has gone astray
Champai wrote in his letter shared on X- Today it is with great sadness that I have to say that the party which workers like us had dreamt of under your guidance has today lost its direction. The party for which we had scoured the forests, mountains and villages has gone astray.
You are ill, then where should I tell my sorrow?
Champai Soren has also said that due to the events of the past few days, I have to take this difficult decision with a lot of pain. You are away from active politics due to ill health. At present, apart from you, there is no such forum in the party where we can express our pain. Hence, I am resigning from the primary membership and all the posts of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
Shibu Soren considered a guide
Champai Soren finally wrote- Under your (Shibu Soren) guidance, I got a chance to learn a lot in life during the Jharkhand movement and even after that. You will always remain my guide. I humbly request you to kindly accept my resignation. Let us tell you that recently Champai Soren met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present in this meeting. The Assam CM had said in his post on Instagram that Champai Soren will join BJP in Ranchi on August 30.
