The latest example of how unemployment is prevalent in Haryana is seen in the recruitment of Safai Karamcharis. More than 46,000 graduate and post graduate students have applied for contractual Safai Karamchari posts in Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam, which has a salary of just Rs 15,000.
According to the data of Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN), about 39,990 graduates and more than 6,112 postgraduate candidates have applied between August 6 and September 2. Apart from this, 1,17,144 12th pass people have also applied for this post.
A contractual sanitation worker appointed in government departments, boards and corporations through the HKRN pool will be paid around Rs 15,000 per month, an official said.
Officials say that there is no possibility of any kind of misunderstanding in applying for this post. The job description clearly states the nature of the work. While applying on the HKRN website, candidates have to give a declaration in which they ensure that they have read the job description carefully. It includes the work of removing garbage from public places, roads.
