Israel launched the biggest attack on Hezbollah in two decades, chaos in Lebanon; 492 dead

Israel had alerted citizens

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had also appealed to the Lebanese citizens to vacate the area. A warning was issued especially for the citizens of eastern and southern Lebanon. He also asked them to take this warning seriously. He had said, ‘After our operation is completed, you can return safely to your homes.’

Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagar had said that the army would do whatever was necessary to push Hezbollah back from Lebanon’s border with Israel. He claimed on Monday that the air strike had caused significant damage to Hezbollah. He also said that if necessary, Israel was ready to attack Lebanon on the ground.

He said, ‘We don’t want war. We want to reduce the dangers.’ He said, ‘We will do whatever is necessary to complete this mission.’ The spokesperson has informed that Hezbollah has fired 9 thousand rockets on Israel since October till now. Israel estimates that Hezbollah has about 1 lakh 50 thousand rockets and missiles, which have the capability to attack anywhere in Israel.

US to send more troops to West Asia

According to the agency, the US is sending additional troops to West Asia in view of the growing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, which has increased the risk of further flaring up of regional war. The US Defense Ministry gave this information on Monday. Pentagon (Defense Ministry) press secretary Major General Pat Ryder did not give any details about how many additional troops would be sent or what task they would be assigned.

The US currently has about 40,000 troops in the region. The new deployment comes after heavy attacks by Israeli forces inside Lebanon, which have killed hundreds of people.
