Jail doctor demanded 10 thousand rupees, claims the accused who fired at Salman Khan’s house

An accused in the shootout outside actor Salman Khan’s residence on Wednesday alleged that a jail doctor demanded money to treat his broken finger. Harpal Singh, arrested in April for his alleged role in the shootout, made the allegation before Judge BD Shelke when he was produced before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) special court in Mumbai via video link.

The court directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Taloja jail, where Singh is lodged, to submit the report. The court also asked the jail authorities to provide necessary treatment to the accused.

On the morning of April 14, two men on a motorcycle fired five rounds outside Salman’s residence Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. The police had claimed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the attack. So far six people have been arrested in this case.

Singh told the court on Wednesday that a finger on his right hand has been injured for the past eight months. He alleged that the CMO demanded Rs 10,000 to send him to a hospital. The court has sought a report in the matter by October 7.
