Matka OTT Release Date When and Where to Watch Varun Tej Crime Drama Online

Varun Tej’s film ‘Matka’ is released in theaters on November 14, 2024. The film is a gangster period drama that tells the story of a man who rises from poverty to become a gambling kingpin. This latest movie of Varun Tej is going to be released on Prime Video in mid-December. The film is directed by Karuna Kumar. Critics and audiences have given mixed reactions to the film.

The streaming rights of Tej starrer Matka had already been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. However, the date on which the film will be available on OTT is yet to be confirmed. There is a possibility that Amazon Prime may gift the film to Tej’s fans in the third week of December.

Story of ‘Matka’ movie
Matka, directed by Karuna Kumar, is a period gangster drama set in Visakhapatnam between 1958 and 1982. Varun Tej plays the role of Vasu in the story and the entire story revolves around him. Vasu rises from poverty and earns a lot of wealth through gambling. The story tells how Vasu journeys from a refugee to becoming the “King of Matka”. The film is set in vintage style. Scenes and jewelery etc. of the same period have been used which takes the film to an older era.

Matka stars Meenakshi Chaudhary in the role of ‘Sujata’ and Nora Fatehi in the role of ‘Sofia’. Other lead actors include Saloni Aswani, P. Ravi Shankar, Kishore, Naveen Chandra and Ajay Ghosh. Karuna Kumar, known for his direction in Palasa, has directed this project. The music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, while Kishore Kumar has handled the cinematography. The film is produced by Vijendra Reddy Tegala and Rajini Talluri under Vyara Entertainment and SRT Entertainment.
