Not only the players, but the members of the support staff are also going to get lakhs of rupees. Apart from this, Odisha player Amit Rohidas will get the highest amount. Hockey India has also made a big announcement for the players and support staff. Just as the Odisha government is going to give Rs 15 lakh each to the players, Hockey India will also give the same amount to the players. However, Hockey India has decided to give Rs 7.5 lakh each to the support staff. At the same time, the Odisha government announced Rs 10 lakh each.
After winning the bronze medal in Paris Olympics, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has announced that every player of the bronze medal winning team will be given Rs 15 lakh as a reward, while the government has decided to give Rs 10 lakh to each member of the support staff. At the same time, the state government will give Rs 4 crore to Odisha player Amit Rohidas. Amit Rohidas did not play in three quarters due to a red card in the quarter-finals and he also stayed away from the semi-finals due to the ban, but he was seen playing in the bronze medal match.
Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also seemed happy with this victory. He wrote on his X account, “Congratulations to the Indian hockey team for winning the medal for the second time in a row in the Olympics. This has happened after so many decades. The historic medal of the Indian team in the Paris Olympics has made every Indian proud. This is an emotional moment for me personally. Hopefully this will restore the glory of Indian hockey and the team will achieve more for the country.” India defeated Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match after trailing 0-1. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored two goals.
