Mpox reaches India, first case confirmed in the country; isolated patient found positive

The first case of the dangerous virus Ampox has been confirmed in India. The man infected with this virus had recently traveled to a country infected with Ampox. He has currently been kept in a separate facility for care. According to the Union Health Ministry, the condition of the infected person is stable at present. He is not showing any major symptoms of the virus yet. However, the Union Health Ministry has said that this is not a part of the emergency declared by the ‘World Health Organization’. This person, who returned after traveling to the affected country, was admitted to the hospital for testing for infection, where after investigation it was found that the patient has the presence of Ampox virus of West African Clade 2.
