Talking about the box office performance of the film, Aditya Sarpotdar directed Munjya was released on the big screen on 7 June. It was produced by Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. The film had a worldwide gross collection of Rs 132 crore. It became the fifth highest grossing Hindi film of this year, while its budget is said to be Rs 30 crore.

The film was appreciated by critics and audiences alike. Abhay Verma and Sharvari Bagh play the lead roles in the film. The story of Munjya is inspired by folklore from the Konkan region of Maharashtra. The lead character Bittu, i.e. Abhay Verma, faces a ghost named Munjya. Munjya’s death was tragic and he wants to marry Bittu’s girlfriend Bela (Sharvari) in the film.
