Neeraj Chopra, popularly known as the Golden Boy of India, has recently made a big revelation regarding the Paris Olympics. Neeraj was expected to win the second consecutive gold medal in the Olympic Games, but due to the record-breaking throw of Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem, Neeraj had to be satisfied with the silver medal. Now after a month, Neeraj has revealed that he lost consciousness due to excitement during the final due to which he could not concentrate on technical things.
Let us tell you, Arshad Nadeem created a new record in the Olympics with a throw of 92.97m. On the basis of this throw, this Pakistani athlete managed to capture the gold. Whereas Neejar Chopra stood second with a throw of 89.45m.
“The first throw affects an athlete’s midset a lot. My first throw was really good, but I fouled. I was facing some problems because the track was new,” Neeraj said at the Mission Olympics 2036 event in Haryana. I tried to adjust to avoid fouls, but I failed. The competition was tough.”
Neeraj further said, “After that Nadeem made a good throw, then my second throw also turned out to be good. What happened after that is that many times we say that along with enthusiasm, one should also be conscious. So perhaps I was not conscious that day. That day, Josh was very angry that I had to do it. But somewhere the technical thing was missed.”
Neeraj may have failed to defend the gold medal in Paris, but he also created history by winning silver. He became the first athlete to win two Olympic medals for India in track and field. Before Paris, Neeraj had won gold in Tokyo.
