IAS Puja Khedkar: Days after the mother of tantrum-throwing probationary IAS officer Pooja Khedkar was arrested, the Pune police have seized a pistol and three bullets from her house which she had allegedly used to threaten some farmers in Maharashtra. On Thursday, Manorama Khedkar was arrested from Maharashtra’s Raigad district after she was seen brandishing a gun and threatening some villagers over a land dispute in a viral video.
The police have also seized the SUV seen in the viral video. Pooja Khedkar’s mother faces several charges including attempt to murder.
In the footage, she can be seen having a heated argument with a farmer. She is demanding to see the land documents in her name. As the tension increased, she waved a gun in a threatening manner. Seeing the entire incident being captured on camera, she immediately hid it. The video was made by a man named Vishal.

The 2023 batch IAS officer came into the limelight a few weeks ago when Pune Collector Suhas Divase wrote a letter to Maharashtra Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik informing her about the demands made by Pooja. She was not entitled to this during her probation. After this complaint, many revelations came one after the other about Pooja Khedkar and her family.
Now questions have been raised on how he passed the tough selection process of UPSC. It is alleged that he had submitted fake documents to avail the benefits of physical disability and OBC reservation. Now his two-year training has been stopped. His selection in IAS is being investigated by a panel formed by the Center.
