Reservation will be implemented in PM Internship Scheme, for the first time entry through quota in private companies

PM Internship Scheme has been started by the Central Government on Thursday. Before Diwali, Modi government has given this big gift to one lakh youth of the country. Under this, these people will be given the opportunity of internship in the top 500 companies of the country and they will also be given financial assistance of Rs 66,000 from the government during this period. According to the corporate social responsibility of the companies, names of 500 companies have been decided in which the youth are to be given the opportunity of training. This opportunity will be given to youth between 21 to 24 years.

The Corporate Ministry has also created a portal for this. Till now, 111 companies including Mahindra & Mahindra, Max Life have registered on this portal. Apart from this, 1079 internship programs have also been offered. Till now these have been given only in states like Uttarakhand, Telangana, Maharashtra and Gujarat. These companies mainly offer internship programs in the production and maintenance departments. The important thing is that SC, ST and OBC reservation will also be implemented in the PM Internship Scheme. This is the first time that the system of reservation will be implemented in any scheme made for the private sector. However, in a way the rule of creamy layer has also been added to it.

A provision has been made that only people with annual family income of Rs 8 lakh or less will get the opportunity to apply. The rule of 50 percent reservation will also be implemented within this limit. Doctors, CA, IIT, IIM graduates will also be able to apply under this scheme. The government says that under this scheme, youth will be given the opportunity of internship in their home district or any nearby district. The government wants to implement this scheme by December 2.

Government officials said that Rs 800 crore will be spent in this scheme in the first phase. Under this, the youth will get Rs 5000 every month and an additional assistance of Rs 6000 will be given once. According to the information received so far, the scheme of internship for 1 lakh youth has been launched as a pilot project. After this it will be studied and efforts will be made to provide training opportunity to one crore youth in 5 years. A pilot project will be studied for that scheme.
