Semiconductor industry’s Maha Kumbh will be held in UP from September 11, PM Modi will inaugurate it in the presence of CM Yogi

The Yogi government has accelerated the work of making Uttar Pradesh a hub of semiconductor manufacturing. Uttar Pradesh is going to host Semicon India-2024 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida from September 11 to 13. Along with Semicon, Electronica India-2024 and Productronica India-2024 are also being organized. The inaugural ceremony of Semicon India-2024 will be held on Wednesday in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Work Force Pavilion Development Pavilion will also be inaugurated by them.

255 delegates from 17 countries are participating in SEMICON India-2024. Under SEMICON India 2024, an exhibition will be held from 10 am to 6 pm on all three days from September 11 to 13, in which semiconductor manufacturers from all over the world will set up their stalls. A presentation will also be made on the semiconductor ecosystem in India. On the second day, cross regional partnerships, flexible hybrid electronics, supply chain management, mighty industry academia workshops and sustainability sessions will be organized.

UP Electronics Corporation Limited is also setting up and operating a pavilion spread over an area of ​​145 square meters, which will mark the presence of the state as well as promote sector-favoring policies in the field of electronics, semiconductor and chip manufacturing. Apart from this, meetings with investors will also be organized here and the Chief Minister will also participate in two such sessions on Wednesday.

The path for development of eco-system will be paved

The India Semiconductor Mission (an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) has attracted major companies such as AMD, Applied Materials and Micron Technology to invest in its chip sector. SEMI and Messe Muenchen India are partnering with the Electronic Industries Association of India-ELCINA for this program to help develop India’s semiconductor industry.

Why is UP suitable for semiconductor and electronic manufacturing

For this, Semiconductor Policy has been implemented for the first time in the state.

Provision of 50 percent additional capital subsidy over the capital subsidy approved by the Government of India under UP Semiconductor Policy

The policy also provides 75% land rebate for compound semiconductors, silicon photonics, sensors, ATMP, OSAT

Along with dual grid network, there is 100% exemption in electricity duty for 10 years.

Provision has also been made for 50 per cent rebate on inter-state power purchase, transmission and wheeling charges for 25 years, 100 per cent exemption on stamp duty and registration fees and 5 per cent interest subsidy per annum (maximum Rs 7 crore).

Electronics Manufacturing Policy and FDI Policy have been brought by Uttar Pradesh.
