This electric car has been made available in Creative, Fearless, Empowered and Empowered+ variants. Tata Motors claims that the 45 kWh battery of Nexon EV will give a range of about 489 km on a single charge. It has features like panoramic sunroof, V2L and V2Vn charging technology. With this charging technology, other appliances and electric vehicles can also be charged using its battery power. Tata Motors claims that it can be charged from 10-80 percent in about 40 minutes with a 60 kW fast charger.
The company had signed an agreement with Shell in April to expand its EV charging infrastructure. These charging stations will be installed at British oil and gas company Shell’s fuel stations in the country. EV sales have grown rapidly in the last few years. Tata Motors’ EV customers use Tata Power’s EV chargers as well as third-party EV charging networks. Tata Power has more than 8,000 EV charging stations. EVs account for about two per cent of total car sales in the country.
Earlier, Tata Motors had tied up with Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) to set up charging stations for EVs. Under this, these charging stations will be installed at around 5,000 fuel pumps of Hindustan Petroleum by the end of this year. HPCL has more than 21,000 fuel pumps. By installing chargers at these fuel pumps, the company will be able to improve the experience for its customers. More than 3,000 EV charging stations have been installed at HPCL fuel pumps. Recently, Tata Motors had reduced the prices of EVs. The company has started its first showroom only for EVs in Gurugram. The company has the highest share in the electric vehicle market in the country. Many automobile companies are launching their models in this segment.
