Three UPSC students preparing for the civil services examination died after the basement of a building housing the Rao IAS Coaching Center (Rau IAS Study Circle) was flooded following heavy rains in Old Rajendra Nagar area of Delhi on Saturday. The deceased include 1 boy and 2 girl students. The authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the deceased. Angry with this tragic incident, the students protested against the death of UPSC students and raised slogans against the officials. In this case, Delhi Revenue Minister Atishi has directed Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to start an investigation into the incident and submit a report within 24 hours. Atishi posted on Instagram, “A magisterial inquiry has been ordered to find out how this incident happened. Whoever is responsible for this incident will not be spared.”
After the accident, DCP (Central Delhi) M Harshvardhan told reporters that it seems that the basement was flooded very fast, due to which some people were trapped inside. Let us tell you that a rescue operation was carried out for several hours by the NDRF, local police and fire department to rescue the people trapped in the basement. During this, the bodies of two girl students and a boy student were recovered from the spot.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj visited the spot at night and held the AAP government responsible for the incident. They said that the local AAP MLA ignored the repeated appeals of the local people to clean the drains.
