Tirupati Laddu controversy: Playing with the faith of Hindus, BJP will go to court against Jaganmohan

The uproar is increasing after the claims and reports of animal fat in the Prasad Laddus of Tirupati Balaji temple. BJP leader and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy has said that he will go to court against Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that the ghee used to make Prasad Laddus in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government from 2019 to 2024 was not pure cow ghee but adulterated. He said that devotees take Laddus Prasad after visiting Balaji. He said that during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government, 14 tonnes of ghee was used to make Lattu every day. Unfortunately it was adulterated. The report revealed that animal fat was mixed in it.

Let us tell you that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had made a big claim on Thursday, on which politics has heated up. He had said that disgusting politics has been done by mixing animal fat in Tirupati laddus. He said that the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government did not spare even the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati and used substandard material and animal fat to make laddus. At the same time, TDB spokesperson Anam Venkat Raman said that adulteration has been confirmed by the Gujarat-based livestock laboratory in the ghee samples provided by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). He showed the alleged laboratory report, which also claimed the presence of ‘animal fat’, ‘lard’ (related to pig fat) and fish oil in the given ghee sample. The date of taking the samples was July 9, 2024 and the laboratory report was dated July 16.

Bhanu Prakash Reddy said, such an incident has never happened in the history of Tirumala. We are very sad about this matter. Jaganmohan Reddy’s government was hurting the faith of Hindus. Especially the devotees of Balaji. We are filing a complaint against Jaganmohan Reddy and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, YV Subba Reddy and the then Executive Officer Dharma Reddy. After the formation of the current government, pure desi ghee is being used in making laddus. He said, I hope justice will be done and Lord Govinda will forgive everyone for this mistake.

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar said the alleged use of animal fat in making laddus was a grave betrayal of the faith and belief of Hindus who believe in Lord Venkateswara. In a post on ‘X’, he demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government immediately investigate the matter so that the truth comes out and strict action is taken against those responsible.

Let us tell you that according to the report, beef fat, lard, fish oil and palm oil have been separated from the ghee used in Tirupati Balaji’s laddu. Gujarat’s NDDB CALF (Centre for analysis and learning in Livestock and Food) private lab tests animal feed, milk and milk products. The report of this lab claims that the ghee of laddu contains fat and lard. Actually, the fatty tissue present around the organs of ruminant animals is removed. After this, beef fat is heated at high temperature. After this, it is used in making products like soap and candles. Vegetable oil is now being used in place of lard in many things.
