Voting for Haryana assembly elections will not be held on October 1. The Election Commission has extended this date to October 5. Along with this, the counting day for Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections has been extended from October 4 to October 8. In this way, the election results of both the states will be declared on October 8. The commission said, ‘This decision has been taken to respect the voting rights and traditions of the Bishnoi community, who have maintained the centuries-old practice of participating in the Asoj Amavasya festival celebrations in memory of their guru Jambheshwar.’
Earlier, the Election Commission had announced that voting for the 90-member Haryana Assembly would be held on October 1. It was decided to declare its results on October 4. At present, there is a churn going on within the political parties to declare their respective candidates. It is reported that Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini will contest the assembly elections from Ladwa seat of Kurukshetra. BJP’s Haryana unit president Mohan Lal Baroli gave this information. Responding to the question of journalists on the sidelines of the roadshow in Karnal, Saini said, ‘I will contest from Karnal as well, why are you worried.’ When Saini was asked whether he would file nomination papers from 2 seats, the Chief Minister avoided giving a direct answer and said, ‘I will contest from Karnal.’ When Badoli was asked during the day that from where the Chief Minister would contest the election, he said, ‘Chief Minister sahab will contest from Ladwa.’
