Nasa NEOWISE Mission will end 31st july replaced by NEO Surveyor

Nasa NEOWISE Mission: Many space missions become memorable for space agencies. NASA’s NEOWISE mission, which explored space for more than 14 years, The NEOWISE Mission Now it is ending. The full name of NEOWISE is Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer. The mission launched in 2009 will be completed on 31 July. In all these years, the NEOWISE telescope remained in the lower orbit of the Earth. It detected more than 44 thousand objects in our solar system. The telescope also surveyed more than 3000 near-earth objects such as asteroids etc. and discovered 215 of them.

As an alternative to NEOWISE, NASA has planned to launch the NEO Surveyor i.e. Near Earth Object Surveyor Telescope, which is set to be sent into space by the year 2027. This telescope will also detect those objects coming near the Earth, which can pose a threat to our planet.

Telescopes have been installed all over the world to detect asteroids, meteoroids, etc. Many telescopes also do the same work from space. For the last 14 years, the NEOWISE mission has been engaged in protecting our planet from external threats. Initially, this mission was prepared for a short time, but after reaching space, it gave very accurate results and scientists continued to use it.

According to reports, NASA has developed a new technology to identify things hidden near the Earth. The data received from NEOWISE played an important role in developing the technology. By ‘leaving’ this telescope, NASA will start exploring space with a new telescope. Apart from this, NEOWISE is not proving to be very useful in the Solar Maximum i.e. the activities taking place in the Sun have increased at such a speed. As a result, NASA needs a new telescope.

According to the report, on July 31, the spacecraft of the NEOWISE telescope will go into hibernation mode. Then it will slowly start coming towards the Earth and by the end of this year or early 2025, it will enter the Earth’s atmosphere and burn up.
