The cabinet has approved the report of the Ramnath Kovind committee on one country one election. This proposal was presented in the cabinet meeting of the Narendra Modi government held on Wednesday, which was unanimously approved by the cabinet. This report was submitted by the Kovind committee in March this year, just before the Lok Sabha elections. The Law Ministry is very active regarding this. This report explains what can be the benefits of one country one election and how it can be implemented. According to the report, Lok Sabha and assembly elections can be held together. Apart from this, local body elections can also be included in it later.
