The mystery anime Killed Again, Mr. Detective? will premiere in April 2026. The announcement comes with a teaser trailer for the anime, offering a first look at the show’s style.
The story follows high school student Sakuya Outsuki, the son of a renowned detective. He works on mundane cases and possesses the unique ability to come back to life after being killed. Along with his assistant Lilithea, the two find themselves solving increasingly bigger cases.
Rikuya Yasuda will voice Sakuya Outsuki, with Shion Wakayama voicing Lilithea. The anime is produced at Studio LIDEN, directed by Takashi Naoya, and features series composition by Mio Inoue.
It is an adaptation of the light novel series written by Teniwoha and illustrated by Riichu. The novels have five volumes in Japan. While the novels are not published in English, a two-volume manga adaptation has been licensed by Yen Press.
Yen Press describes the manga as follows:
Sakuya Outsuki is the son of a legendary detective, striving to follow in his father’s footsteps with the help of his assistant, Lilithea. This isn’t your average high-school sleuth, though-because he comes back to life every time he’s killed! Being a little too familiar with death and always awakening to Lilithea by his side, Sakuya’s happy to take on low-risk cases. Surely investigating a movie producer’s affair on a luxury cruise ship won’t pose any real threat! But when the duo ends up entangled in a larger and bloodier situation, Sakuya will have to get to the bottom of the mystery…and die trying!
