Zomato Feature To Delete Order History On App CEO comes with reason more details

Zomato has added a new feature to its platform. Now the user can also delete his order history. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced the roll out of a new feature on the food delivery app. Actually, there is an interesting case behind adding this feature to the app. About 7 months ago, a Zomato customer wrote feedback to the app that he is leaving Zomato because he cannot delete his order history. Zomato took this feedback seriously and finally added this new feature to the app.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal posted a post from his account on social media platform X. In which he confirmed the launch of the feature to delete the order history on the app. Deepinder Goyal also linked the case of a user Karan along with this app feature. Goyal wrote, “For Karan and many more users like him – now you can delete orders from your order history on Zomato. Use it responsibly. We are sorry that it took so long to bring it. It affected many systems and microservices. We are rolling it out to all customers, as we said.”

Announcing the feature, Dipinder Goyal tagged a post by user X named Karan from December 2023. The user claimed in the post that he will no longer place late night orders from Zomato because his wife checks these orders, and the worst part is that he cannot even delete these orders from the history. The user said that either Zomato should provide the facility to delete orders from the history, or else he is leaving Zomato.

After about 7 months, Zomato has now taken steps in this direction and actually added the feature. There have been many reactions from users on this post of Deepinder Goyal. Earlier, a similar interesting case was also seen from Blinkit. In which a user complained that his mother does not pay for green coriander leaves. Rather, she wants green coriander leaves to be given for free with many vegetables. After this incident, CEO Albinder Dhindsa took the feedback seriously and added the feature to the app.
