The target was the Olympic medal and the knowledge of the Gita was running in the mind… Manu Bhaker revealed this after winning the historic bronze

Indian shooter Manu Bhaker won a historic bronze medal at the Paris Olympics on Sunday. She won bronze in the 10 meter air pistol event and opened India’s medal account. She is the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal. India has won an Olympics in shooting after 12 years. After winning bronze, 22-year-old Manu revealed that she has read the Bhagavad Gita a lot. She said that when the medal was in the target, the knowledge of the Gita was going on in her mind.

Manu said, “I feel great after winning the medal. India was waiting for this medal for a long time. I was just ready to get it. India deserves a lot of medals. So, we are looking forward to more and more events this time. And the whole team has worked really hard. For me personally, this feeling is really like a dream. I think I did a good job. I tried very hard and till the end I kept fighting with all my energy. However, it is bronze. But I am really grateful that I could win bronze for India, maybe next time will be better.”

He further said, “Honestly, I have read a lot of Gita. What was going on in my mind was just focus on the work, don’t worry about the result. Do what is in your control and leave the rest. Whatever the fate is, you cannot control its result. So in Gita, Krishna tells Arjun to focus on the work and not on the result of the work. So this was going on in my mind. So I thought ‘just do your work, and leave everything else.'”

Manu could not win a medal in the Tokyo Olympics. When Manu was asked what she did to deal with the disappointment of Tokyo, the shooter said, “You can only keep trying and giving your best.” She said, “I cannot tell you how good I am feeling.” She said, “Thanks to all my friends, relatives and well-wishers for standing with me. It is because of them that I am standing here. You all made my life so easy. I would like to thank my coach Jaspal sir, my sponsors OGQ and my coaches.”
