Bangladesh News in Hindi: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned amid violent protests in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, there are reports that she has decided to say goodbye to politics forever. Her son and political advisor Shajeeb Wazed Joy has revealed this during an interview. Currently, Hasina has reached India while going to London. It is being said that she has been taken to a safe place.
While talking to BBC, Joy has made it clear that Hasina will not make a political comeback now. He said that Hasina is ‘extremely disappointed that despite her hard work, the minorities have turned against her.’ He said that Hasina was thinking of resigning since yesterday and when her family convinced her, she left the country for her safety.
He said, ‘She changed the situation of Bangladesh. When she came to power, Bangladesh was considered a failed state. It was a poor country. Even today it was considered one of the rising lions of Asia. She is very disappointed.’
Speaking to NDTV, Joy said, “I spoke to her this morning. As you can see, there is chaos in Bangladesh. She is very disappointed. This is very sad for her because she wanted to turn Bangladesh into a developed country and for this she has worked very hard for the last 15 years. She kept the country safe from extremists and terrorism and despite all this, this vocal minority, opposition and extremists have gained power.”
Will there be fair elections or not?
Joy said, ‘We hope that elections will be held in Bangladesh, but at the moment our party leaders are being targeted and I don’t see how fair elections will be possible. In a way, it is no longer a family problem. We have shown what we can do. We have shown how much we can develop Bangladesh and if the people of Bangladesh do not want to stand up and support these violent minorities, then the people have got the leadership they deserved.’
