Nalin Prabhat has a remarkable history of service in Jammu and Kashmir. He has served here during the period of peak militancy. He led the anti-fidayeen operation at Lal Chowk in 2009. He successfully neutralised the terrorists who attacked the Punjab Hotel in Srinagar. This prevented destruction in the heart of the city.
Nalin Prabhat will have to face many challenges as soon as he steps into the role of DGP. There has been a surge in terrorism in the Jammu region recently. Apart from this, assembly elections are also going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir.
