The police have arrested a laborer from Uttar Pradesh for raping and murdering a nurse. The accused’s name is Dharmendra and he is a resident of Bareilly. He raped and strangled the nurse to death on the night of July 30 when she was returning from the hospital. At present, the police have recovered the body. The accused has also confessed his crime.
The victim was also a resident of Uttar Pradesh. She worked in a private hospital in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. When the victim did not reach home on the second day of the incident, her sister lodged a missing complaint with the police. After the incident, the police started investigating and the woman’s body was recovered a week later. The nurse’s body was found lying in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Senior SP of Udham Singh Nagar Manjunath T C said that on July 30, we received a complaint about a missing woman. When we tried to find her, we found out that she had reached her village in Uttar Pradesh. Then suddenly on August 8, we got information about a dead body of a woman lying in an empty plot in the same area. Investigation revealed that this body was of the missing woman.
Police said that during the investigation, we got information that the woman’s phone was in Rajasthan. Based on all kinds of technical and CCTV evidence, we came to know that a man named Dharmendra Kumar was following the woman. This incident took place in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, when the female nurse was returning to her home after finishing work from the hospital. On this basis, the police arrested the accused, who is a daily wage earner, from Rajasthan.
After the arrest, it was found that the accused is a drug addict and he does not know the woman. On the night of the incident, he saw a woman going alone. The SSP said that he also had an argument with the woman. After this, he strangled her to death. He also raped the woman before killing her. After the murder, he fled from there with the belongings of the female nurse.
The police further said that the accused has confessed his crime. Also, we have recovered the clothes the woman was wearing on the night of the incident. After recovering the mobile phone and SIM, it became easier for us to know the reason behind the murder.
