PM Modi Vande Bharat News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday flagged off three new Vande Bharat trains. One of these will connect Meerut to Lucknow while the other two will connect the South Indian cities of Madurai to Bengaluru and Chennai to Nagercoil. Addressing the flagging off ceremony through video conference, Modi said that rapid development of southern states is important to achieve the goal of making India a developed country by 2047. The Prime Minister also said that the increase in budgetary allocation for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka has strengthened rail transport in the southern states.

The Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat train will take passengers almost an hour earlier than the current fastest train between the two cities. Similarly, the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat train will save more than two hours and the Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train will save about one and a half hours. Addressing the people on this occasion, PM Modi said that we will not stop until the Indian Railways becomes a guarantee of comfortable travel for everyone.
