Maharashtra Assembly Election Survey 2024: Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra this year. Although the dates for the elections have not been announced yet, the politics of the state is at its peak. Looking at the public mood regarding the current political environment, it seems that a big upset can be seen in the upcoming assembly elections. In a recent survey, the ruling Mahayuti seems to be ousted from the government. According to the Lok Poll survey, after the bad situation in the Lok Sabha elections, the Mahayuti may have to face defeat in the assembly elections as well.
Out of the total 288 assembly seats in the state, 145 seats are required for majority. According to the survey, Mahavikas Aghadi is expected to get 141 to 154 seats, while they are likely to get 41 to 44 percent votes. At the same time, Mahayuti can get 115 to 128 seats and their vote percentage can be between 38 to 41 percent. Other parties and independent candidates are expected to get 5 to 18 seats, which can get 15 to 18 percent votes.
According to the survey, if seen at the regional level, Mahayuti will be ahead of Mahavikas Aghadi in Thane-Konkan region, while there is a tough competition between the two in Khandesh. Mahavikas Aghadi is expected to dominate in Vidarbha, Mumbai, West Maharashtra and Marathwada. Mahavikas Aghadi had performed well in these regions in the Lok Sabha elections too, which can benefit them in the assembly elections too.
If the survey is to be believed, Mahayuti can get only 15 to 20 seats in Vidarbha region, while Mahavikas Aghadi can win 40 to 45 seats. Both are likely to get 20 to 25 seats in Khandesh. Mahayuti can get 25 to 30 seats in Thane-Konkan, while Mahavikas Aghadi is expected to be limited to 5 to 10 seats.
In Mumbai, Mahavikas Aghadi can win 20 to 25 seats, while Mahayuti is expected to get only 10 to 15 seats. In West Maharashtra, Mahavikas Aghadi can win 30 to 35 seats, while Mahayuti may have to be satisfied with 20 to 25 seats. In Marathwada, Mahavikas Aghadi can get 25 to 30 seats and Mahayuti can get 15 to 20 seats.
The condition of the Mahayuti was also very bad in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the Mahayuti got only 17 seats. The results of the recent survey are pointing towards a big change in the politics of Maharashtra, where the ruling Mahayuti may suffer huge losses and the Mahavikas Aghadi is moving towards victory in the assembly elections. However, it will be interesting to see who the public makes the head of the state after the Maharashtra assembly elections.
