Just before the formation of the new government in Delhi, LG VK Saxena has handed over the work to the elected Chief Minister. LG has shown many pictures of filth and misery and asked to pay attention to it. LG said that lakhs of people in West Delhi are forced to live a life worse than hell.
LG VK Saxena shared a total of 28 photos in a series of posts. LG said, ‘Due to the government’s neglect and the related administrative inertia, lakhs of people of West Delhi are forced to live a life worse than hell. Roads filled with 2-2 feet deep potholes and sewer water, overflowing drains filled with silt due to lack of cleaning for years, stinking water mixed with sewer, rotting garbage, backflowing sewer lines, hundreds of helpless people expressing their emotions and anger amidst poisonous insects and mosquitoes.’
In another post, he said, ‘This is what was seen yesterday evening during the inspection of Mundka, Nangloi, Ranikheda, Ranhola, Karala and Kanjhawala and Rohtak Road. The failure of transferred subjects like PWD, MCD, I&FC, DJB and DSIIDC is unpardonable.’ LG said that these generally neglected areas and their people have been highlighting their suffering and anger on social media for the last several years. After continuous requests from the residents of the area, civil organizations, MP and councilor, after inspection yesterday with the officials of the concerned departments, he asked to provide immediate relief.
LG said, ‘Remedial work has been going on since last night. For the convenience of the residents, a chart with the phone numbers of the officials is enclosed. I had earlier also drawn the attention of the Hon’ble Chief Minister to the dire condition of the people and its solution several times, especially after visiting Sangam Vihar, Kalandar Colony, Kiradi and Burari. I once again draw the attention of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Chief Minister’s Designate to this and request them to pay immediate attention to it.’
