A young man shot himself in the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. The injured youth was taken to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Hospital for treatment, where he died. Police are investigating the incident and trying to identify the deceased. It is being told that the youth had snatched the pistol from the gunman of a VIP who had come to visit the temple.
According to the information, some VIPs had come to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple with their security personnel. The VIPs went inside the Golden Temple, while their security personnel stood outside in the corridor. During this time, a young man came there and snatched the gunman’s pistol and shot himself. There was a commotion after hearing the sound of the gunshot. The place where the young man shot himself is right in front of the Golden Temple, where there are shops. This is called the entrance gate.
Police said that the person who shot himself was a migrant. The deceased has not been identified yet. Police is investigating where the young man came from. CCTV footage is also being examined. Police has taken the body into custody and sent it to Amritsar Civil Hospital for postmortem.
