In the Quad meeting, all member countries including the US considered China’s growing aggression in the South China Sea and Asia as the biggest threat. China’s official mouthpiece Global Times, while giving its opinion on the Quad summit, said that the US is forming a small group in the form of Quad to increase its competition with China, but the national interests of these four countries are different, China also has important and old relations with these countries, so the future of this group is dark and full of uncertainties.
In fact, the Quad group was reactivated to counter the growing aggression of China. The US President said in the press conference held after this conference that China is constantly testing us. Its aggressive behavior continues in the Asia-Pacific region. Biden said that the Quad believes that in times of intense competition, it is very important to have deep diplomacy. However, all the members of the Quad also tried to explain that they are not just sitting there with China. An American official said that it is no surprise that China was on the agenda of this Quad summit. China is a major country in the Indo-Pacific region and this is a conference about the same region and China is definitely a challenge here. He said that but apart from China, there were many issues in the agenda of this conference, which were discussed in detail by all the member countries.
Chinese media said- America may try, but its future is uncertain
Regarding this summit, China’s official mouthpiece Global Times said that China will be the main issue in this conference to be held in America. According to it, through the Quad, America is trying to strengthen the legacy of the Biden administration in the ongoing economic competition between China and America. But there are differences among the member countries of the Quad regarding different strategic interests. These countries also have close economic relations with China. In such a situation, the divisive game that America wants to play in the Asia Pacific region is not expected to continue like this in the future.
The Global Times wrote that the US wants to spread unrest in the Asia Pacific region by developing the Quad as a small group against China. The US will benefit from this because if there is unrest in this region, the countries here will become overly dependent on the US for their military equipment. This will strengthen America’s dominance at the global level.

According to Chinese analysts, the member countries of the Quad, India, Australia and Japan, have their own strategic importance and ideas. Although China may be an important strategic point for all of them, we should not forget China’s economic relations with these countries. It is not possible to change these economic relations for a long time, nor can they be changed. Therefore, these economic relations will challenge the US effort to promote any kind of confrontation and division in the Asia-Pacific region, and will ensure that peace remains in the region.
