According to reports, from today it will be easy for telecom users to find out which telecom companies’ signals are coming in which area. Apart from this, Airtel, Voda-Idea, Jio and BSNL will have to tell on their website where in the country their network is and in which area.
Users troubled by spam calls and messages are also going to get relief from today. Now only those companies will be able to send messages or make calls to people who are in the white list. It is noteworthy that just a few days ago TRAI had taken action against the firms making unnecessary calls. About 50 unregistered tele-marketing firms were blacklisted. 2 lakh 75 thousand numbers were disconnected, which included mobile numbers and numbers using SIP, DID and other telecom resources.
Between January and June, the first half of this year, more than 7 lakh 90 thousand complaints were received against unregistered telemarketers.
Will OTP service be affected?
According to media reports, some experts are fearing that the new rules of white list may affect the OTP service. If the company sending the OTP is blacklisted, the user will not receive the OTP.
