Motorola may soon launch a phone whose display can roll. In this phone, the display will open as soon as you press a button. This means that the rolled display will be able to open and then be rolled back. The company had introduced its concept in 2023 which was named Moto Rizr. This phone will also have such technology regarding fingerprint scanner that the fingerprint scanner will work on the entire screen of the phone and not just at a certain place. Motorola has reportedly filed a patent for a rollable phone. Its information is available on the website of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (via) has come. It is indicated on the website that the company’s upcoming rollable phone will be equipped with a display in which a full-screen fingerprint sensor will be seen. The advantage of this will be that users will be able to unlock the display by touching it anywhere on the phone.

The patent for fingerprints is titled “Managing Consistent Fingerprint on Display (FOD) Location on a Rollable Device Having Multiple FOD Sensors.” This patent clearly shows that this Motorola device will be equipped with advanced authentication system on the entire display. This new concept of Motorola is to make the Moto Rizr a reality which the company introduced a few months ago.

However, this technology is currently in the patent stage. It may take time to implement it in commercial devices. But it is certain that the company is soon going to introduce a device that will come with all-screen unlocking feature. This will take the user-friendly design of smartphones one step further. Motorola introduced the rollable phone concept at MWC 2023. It had a 6.5 inch flexible display. In fact, this phone was originally described with a 5-inch display that expands to 6.5 inches at the press of a button. After that it gets wrapped around the back side of the phone. Which can also be used as a secondary display.
