Girls’ underwear was removed in school, pads were removed; FIR against madam due to HC’s intervention

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the police have registered a case against the teacher who searched for a phone by removing the clothes of the girl students. In the government school of Malharganj, the girls were examined by removing even their underwear and pads. The High Court had given the administration a week’s time to take action.

The investigation team of the district administration took statements from the teaching staff in the school on Wednesday. After this, a case was registered against teacher Jaya Pawar under sections 76, 79 and 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. On one hand, the families of the girls have expressed their gratitude to the media and on the other hand, they have demanded the suspension of the accused teacher.

Recently in 10th class, many girls were made to remove their clothes in the bathroom after hearing the phone ring. The students had alleged that the teacher even made them remove their underwear. One girl said in front of the police, ‘Madam was not ready to listen to anything. I also told madam to call my mother from home. I told her many times while crying that madam I cannot remove my clothes, but she threatened me that if you do not remove your salwar then I will pull it off. While saying this, madam pulled my salwar. After this, Jaya madam made me remove my under garment too. I said that madam I am having my periods, so madam even made me remove my pad and check.’ When the girls told their family members about the incident, there was a lot of uproar in the school.

‘I remember the same scene even when I sleep’

The students are still very scared about the incident. They told that even when they sleep, they see the incident of that day. Out of fear, they wake up at night. The students are now worried about what will happen to them if Pawar Madam comes to school again. The parents of the students are also scared that something untoward may happen in the school. While talking to the media, the students also told that after the entire incident, when the CCTV of the school was checked, all the students were seen crying together in the school ground, but this thing is not being told to anyone. There is also a question mark on whether the CCTV camera footage has been seized by the police or not.

The case was registered after two weeks

When the incident came to light, the police did not take the statements of other family members after the statements of two students. The statements of the family members of the students whose sanitary pads were removed and checked by Madam Jaya Pawar were recorded by the police on 9 August. Statements of other family members were also taken on Saturday. After all the statements, the police can now send its report to the administration soon.

Teachers had threatened to resign

On August 3, when Hindu organizations protested in the school regarding this incident, the school staff told the police that if any action is taken against Madam Jaya Pawar, the entire teaching staff of the school will resign en masse. After this information reached the education department, the entire matter was put on hold.
