Is Manish Sisodia going to become deputy CM again? He himself gave the answer

After being in jail for 17 months due to the alleged liquor scam, Aam Aadmi Party’s second biggest leader Manish Sisodia has come out on bail. After his release, the biggest question is whether he will play his old role in the Delhi government again or his responsibility will be different this time. Now Manish Sisodia himself has answered this question.

In an interview to India Today, the Aam Aadmi Party leader said that this can happen, but he is not in a hurry for it. When Sisodia was asked if he is going to return to the Delhi government as Deputy CM, he said, ‘It has been just four days since I came out of jail. Arvind Kejriwal will return soon. When Arvind ji comes, the Chief Minister and the senior leadership of the party will decide whether I should remain in the organization or in the government.’ He said that at present he is busy meeting everyone.

Sisodia said, ‘I am ready to do anything. All the leaders of the party are very intelligent people, I do not have any personal preference right now. Maybe if I had come in a month or two, I would have thought of picking up the work that I had left behind, but right now I am seeing that those works are going on very fast, the work of schools, mohalla clinics. There is no such thing that because I am not in the government, these works are not being done.’

It is worth noting that Sisodia was arrested on 26 February last year in a case related to the alleged liquor scam. He remained in jail for 17 consecutive months. After his arrest, Sisodia was the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and was in charge of 18 departments. After going to jail, he resigned from his post.

Sisodia said that until his arrest, he had never thought that he would have to go to jail. He said, ‘Inside, I had a belief that in politics people keep making allegations and counter-allegations but there should be some basis for arrest.’ Sisodia expressed confidence that the case will be over during the trial. He said that voluminous documents have been prepared to prolong the trial. The law that stops funding of terrorists and drug mafia is being applied on politicians.

Sisodia said that he is happy to see the enthusiasm of the workers. He said that even after so many difficulties his party did not disintegrate. Sisodia said, ‘Ever since I have come I am seeing that there is a lot of enthusiasm among the workers. I am proud to see my workers, leaders, MLAs, councillors. In the last 8-10 years, if anyone was given even a small threat of ED, then governments fell, parties disintegrated. Neither our party broke nor the government disintegrated. The government kept working. I am feeling very proud, it is fun to see everyone’s enthusiasm.’ Sisodia said that when we are alone, doubts do come to the mind, but when he came out, whatever little doubts there were, they ended.
