NEET PG Supreme Court hearing update: The Supreme Court has refused to postpone or reschedule the NEET PG exam. The NEET PG scheduled date will be on August 11 only. The petition filed in the apex court demanded the postponement and rescheduling of the exam. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra heard the petition. During the hearing, the bench said that this is not an ideal world and we cannot make a new education policy. We will not reschedule the exam. We cannot risk the careers of two lakh students for five petitioner candidates.
“How can we postpone such an exam. Sanjay Hegde (senior advocate representing the petitioner) said nowadays people just ask for postponement of the exam. This is not an ideal world. We are not educationists. As a matter of principle we will not reschedule the exam. If we order it to be postponed then two lakh students and four lakh parents will cry over the weekend. We cannot put the careers of so many candidates at risk. We do not know who is behind these petitions,” the Chief Justice of India (CJI) said.
It was said in the petition that the candidates have been allotted examination centers in such a city where it is not convenient to reach. Apart from this, it was also said that the exam is in two shifts but the students have not been given any information about normalization. Earlier, advocate Anas Tanvir, on behalf of petitioner Vishal Soren and others, had mentioned the petition before the bench and demanded an immediate hearing. It is known that NEET PG was to be held on June 23. But in view of the possibility of alleged irregularities in the examinations, the Union Health Ministry had postponed this examination.

NEET PG hearing live: Arguments in the petition seeking postponement of NEET PG
NEET PG hearing live: The petition filed by Vishal Soren states that NEET PG candidates are facing a lot of difficulties in reaching their examination centers. They have been allotted centers by NBEMs in such cities, where it is very inconvenient for them to reach. Apart from the examination centers being hundreds of kilometers away, the petition also argues for postponing the exam that the candidates have not yet been told the formula for normalization. The NEET PG exam is to be held in two shifts, so the candidates are confused about which formula their marks will be normalized by. The case will be heard in the apex court today on August 9. The petition states, ‘Candidates from the same place have been allotted cities where it is very inconvenient for them to reach and apart from this, details of the normalization formula of four sets of question papers have been sought and clarity has been sought on ensuring that the normalization formula is told to the candidates, so that any possibility of arbitrariness in the process can be eliminated.’
