The Boeing Starliner spacecraft took Sunita and Butch to space in the first week of June, after which it had a technical problem and both the astronauts could not return to Earth. In such a situation, NASA is now bringing the Starliner back to Earth without any crew. Sunita and Butch will return in February next year, while the Starliner will take off from the International Space Center tonight and then reach Earth tomorrow morning after six hours. When will the Starliner return?
The Starliner carrying Sunita and Wilmore will leave the space center after midnight today at 3:30 am tomorrow morning as per Indian time. It is expected to land back on Earth six hours later, that is, around 9:30 am tomorrow morning. It will land in Mexico. According to a NASA blog post, NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams have completed packing the cargo in the Starliner and are now preparing the cabin for return. They closed the Starliner’s hatch for the last time on Thursday afternoon, making the spacecraft ready for departure without a crew.
