Oldest message in a bottle: A woman from New Jersey, USA found a bottle in the sea, which she took home. There was a 150-year-old message written in this bottle and the woman was shocked to see it. It took the woman 48 hours to understand this message. Amy Smith Murphy, a 49-year-old greeting card designer by profession, was walking on the sea beach in New Jersey city earlier this month, during which she saw something strange in the water.

Amy went closer and saw that it was a bottle and when she looked inside, there was a paper lying in it. Amy was shocked to see this. She said, “I thought this is very strange. What is this?” According to the report of ‘The Sun’, Amy brought that bottle to her house and then opened it with the help of a corkscrew. She and her niece used a toothpick to take out the paper lying in the bottle, on which a message was written.

Amy further said, “It took both of us about 48 hours to understand what was written on the paper. But when we looked at it for a long time and read it, we understood what was written.” Amy and her niece finally managed to read the message. The message written on it was, “Yacht Neptune of Atlantic City, New Jersey, August 6-76.” That is, the message written in the bottle was released into the sea from the Neptune yacht on August 6, 1976.

However, another surprising thing was found during this time. Actually, the bottle remained in the sea for 148 years, but could travel only 15 miles. There was only a distance of 15 miles between the place where the bottle was thrown and the place where it was found. After this, Amy tried to know more about the bottle and the message. She found a similar Bar & Brother Philadelphia bottle which was from before 1990. There were many other bottles on the same website which were from the 1870s. Amy said that I would like to know who was on the ship, who was the captain, where was it going? She also told that she found an article of 1874, in which Captain Samuel Gale of Atlantic City was said to be the owner of Neptune.
