Wayanad landslides: 184 people have lost their lives so far in the landslide disaster caused by heavy rains in Wayanad, Kerala. 130 people are injured, while hundreds are missing. According to media reports, the flood-affected people who are Airtel prepaid customers. The validity of their mobile numbers has expired. They will be given the facility of unlimited calling, data and SMS. Help has also been offered to postpaid customers.

According to reports, those Airtel prepaid customers in disaster affected areas whose validity has expired will get help. Such people will be given 1 GB free mobile data daily for three days. Unlimited calling facility will be available and 100 SMS can be sent daily.

Customers using Airtel’s postpaid service in the disaster affected areas of Wayanad will be able to pay their bills after a few days. The deadline for bill payment has been extended by 30 days.

It is worth noting that a landslide occurred in Mundakkai, Choorlammala, Attamala and Noolpuzha villages near Wayanad between 2 and 4 am on Monday night. Houses, bridges, roads and vehicles were washed away there. Teams of Army, Air Force, NDRF, SDRF, Police and Dog Squad are helping in the rescue operation. More than a thousand people have been rescued from the area so far. 3 thousand people have been sent to nearby safe areas.
