11 people died due to rain in Delhi-NCR

The torrential rain in the last 24 hours in many states of the country including Delhi wreaked havoc on people. A few hours of rain in NCR took the lives of 11 people. On Wednesday night, a mother and son died after drowning in a drain in Khoda area.

Last night, after heavy rain in Gurugram, three people including an engineer passing by died due to electric current in water near Iffco Chowk metro station. At the same time, a bike rider died after falling into a rain drain near the toll in Ghamdouz on Gurugram-Sohna elevated road. A young man died after drowning in a rain drain on Mohana Road in Ballabhgarh.

Here, in Delhi, a person died due to the collapse of a shop in Sabzi Mandi area due to rain. Similarly, a young man in Jaitpur and an innocent child in Bindapur died due to electric shock. In Ambedkar Nagar Colony of Dadri town in Greater Noida, a couple died due to the collapse of a plot wall due to heavy rain. In Ghaziabad, a young man died due to electric shock in MLA Colony located in Nyaykhand 1 of Indirapuram.

55 complaints of falling trees were received

The central control room of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi received 55 complaints of waterlogging and falling trees on Thursday after the rain on Wednesday night. Out of these, 12 complaints were received by the cell between 9 pm on Wednesday and 6 am on Thursday. While 43 complaints were received by the corporation between 2 pm and 6 pm on Thursday. The corporation received these complaints from Narela Zone, City SP Zone, Central Zone, Rohini Zone, West Zone and many other zones.
