Prime Minister Modi said that for the world AI means Artificial Intelligence, while for me AI means America-India. This is the AI power of the world. This AI spirit is giving new heights to India-US relations. I salute the Indians. Wherever I go, I hear praises of Indians. Yesterday US President Joe Biden took me to his home, his warmth was a heart-touching moment for me. This honour belongs to 140 crore Indians, this honour belongs to you.
Addressing the Indians, Prime Minister Modi said that it is said in our country that only those who sacrifice get to enjoy. We get happiness by doing good to others and this feeling does not change no matter which country we live in. We contribute as much as possible to the society in which we live. The flag that you have hoisted in America as doctors, researchers, tech professionals, scientists is a symbol of this. Just a short while ago, the T-20 Cricket World Cup was held here and the American team played so well. The world has also seen the contribution of the Indians living here in that team.
Prime Minister Modi further said that the people of India need not just roads but expressways, not just rail connectivity but high-speed trains. Every city expects to have its own metro and its own airport. Every citizen wants to have the best facilities in the world. We are seeing the result of this that in 2014, only five cities in India had metro, today 23 cities have metro. Today India has the second largest metro network in the world. It is expanding every day. In 2014, only 70 cities in India had airports, but today more than 140 cities have airports. In 2014, less than 100 gram panchayats had broadband connectivity, but today more than two lakh panchayats have this connectivity.
‘India’s 5G market is bigger than America’
The Prime Minister further said that today India’s 5G market has become bigger than America and this has happened within two years. We worked on Made in India technology, focused on cheap data. Every big mobile brand in the world is Made in India. Today India is the second largest mobile manufacturer in the world. There was a time when we were mobile importers, today we have become mobile exporters. Now India does not lag behind, now India creates new systems and leads.
