Two bike-borne youths kidnapped a 20-year-old mute and deaf girl who had gone to the market to buy groceries in Jagatpuri Colony of Modinagar in Ghaziabad district. When the people of the colony chased her, they left her in the jungle of Sikhaida village six kilometers away and fled. Her father has filed a complaint in this regard at Modinagar police station. The police is investigating the case.
A person living in the Jagatpuri colony of the city told that his 20-year-old daughter is unable to hear and speak. In the morning she had gone to the colony shop to buy some goods. Meanwhile, two youths came there on a bike. The youths called the girl to them by gesturing. It is alleged that in the meantime, one of the youths forcibly made the girl sit on the bike. After this, he ran away with the girl.
A young man from the colony saw all this and informed the family. The family informed the Niwari Road police station and started looking for the girl. The accused youth, seeing people coming after him, left the girl in the jungle of village Sikhaida and fled. The girl has injury marks on her neck and hand and is in a distraught state. The girl is informing her family about the incident through gestures. The family has taken the girl to the hospital.
Activists of Hindu organization staged a protest
People of the colony said that hawkers have perpetrated this incident. The accused belong to another community and had been coming to the colony for hawking for the past one week. District co-convener of Bajrang Dal Madhur Nehra reached Modinagar police station with the victim’s family and created a ruckus demanding that a report be registered. They say that the accused of kidnapping the girl should be arrested soon. The police station in-charge pacified them by assuring action.
