Accident on Lucknow-Agra Expressway: A major accident has happened in Unnao on the Lucknow Agra Expressway. A milk tanker hit a sleeper bus from behind which was going to Delhi from Motihari in Bihar. Both the bus and the tanker overturned on the expressway. 18 people travelling in the bus died tragically in this horrific road accident that happened on Wednesday morning. More than 30 people were injured. All the injured have been taken to the community health center in Bangarmau. There was screaming and crying all around after the accident. The police reached the spot and with the help of local people rescued the injured and took them to the hospital.

The bus that met with the accident left Pipra Kothi in Motihari district of Bihar for Bhajanpur in Delhi at 5 pm on Tuesday evening carrying labourers. Around 5 am on Wednesday, the sleeper bus reached near village Garha at kilometer number 247 on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Behta Mujawar police station area. During this time, a tanker coming from behind hit it.

Due to the strong collision, the bus was badly damaged and overturned. There was chaos after the accident. The injured were screaming and crying. The survivors of the bus were crying for help. The people around tried to get them out somehow. After getting the information, the police reached the spot and rescued many people and took them to the hospital.

18 bodies kept in the mortuary

So far, 18 bodies have been kept in the mortuary. The dead include 14 men, two women, a boy and a girl. More than 30 people are reported to be injured. Out of these, the condition of 17 people remains critical. Preparations are being made to send many people to the district hospital after first aid. The local administration is engaged in rescue. The dead have not been identified yet.
