Kolkata Rape Case: Protests are going on across the country over the rape incident that took place in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile, former Trinamool Congress MP from West Bengal and famous actress Mimi Chakraborty is receiving rape threats. She has also informed the cyber police in this regard. On August 9, the body of a trainee doctor was found in the seminar hall of the college, who was raped and then murdered.
Chakraborty has said that she is receiving rape threats for posting about the protests against the Kolkata rape and murder case. She also said that people are sending obscene messages on social media. The special thing is that she participated in the protest against this incident in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. However, many actors from the Bengali film industry attended the protest.
Mimi wrote, ‘And we are demanding justice for women, right? These are some of the examples. Where rape threats have been normalised by toxic masked men in the crowd who say they stand with women. What upbringing and education allows this?’ The actress has also shared some screenshots related to this on Instagram and tagged the Cyber Cell Department of Kolkata Police.
