Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her first statement after leaving power, has demanded punishment against those involved in the killings during the protests.
Hasina’s son Sajeeb shared the former PM’s statement on his social media post. In this statement, Hasina addressed the Bangladeshi people and said that I appeal to all of you to observe 15 August as a national mourning day with seriousness and dignity. Pray for the liberation of all souls by offering garlands of flowers and praying at Bangabandhu Bhawan.
