Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti has responded to Rahul Gandhi on ‘Abhay Mudra’. Advising Rahul Gandhi, Uma Bharti said that he should also look at the other hand of gods and goddesses which has a trident, sword or bow and arrow. She said that its message is that if one walks properly, there is fearlessness, otherwise one has to use weapons. The former Union Minister said that Rahul Gandhi should also discuss the other hand of God.
Bharti wrote on Twitter, ‘Rahul Gandhi ji first discussed the Abhaya Mudra of our Gods and Goddesses in the Parliament and now in America. Let us also look at the other hand which has a trident, sword or bow and arrow. What does the Abhaya Mudra of one hand and the weapon of the other hand say? If you walk properly then you have Abhaya and if you cross the limits then you have to use weapons. Rahul Gandhi ji should also discuss the other hand a little.’ He has also tagged Rahul Gandhi in the tweet.
Rahul Gandhi fiercely targeted the RSS and BJP at a program of Indian immigrants in Dallas, America. During this, he once again mentioned ‘Abhaya Mudra’. He said, ‘In my first speech in Parliament, when I described ‘Abhaya Mudra’, you must have seen that it is a symbol of fearlessness and it is present in every Indian religion. When I was saying this, the BJP could not accept it. They do not understand, and we are going to explain it to them.’
Earlier on July 1, Rahul Gandhi had mentioned Abhay Mudra during the debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address in Parliament. The Leader of Opposition showed a picture of Lord Shiva in the House and said that Lord Shankar inspires truth, courage and non-violence. He said, ‘Lord Shiva says do not be afraid, do not scare others.’ Referring to the ‘Abhay Mudra’ of Lord Shiva, he said that this mudra is seen in all religions – Islam, Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism and Jainism.
