Apple is preparing to provide 5x optical zoom in iPhone 16 Pro

American devices maker Apple’s new iPhone series may be launched soon. The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max of this series can be given a tetraprism 5x zoom lens. Apple used this lens in the iPhone 15 Pro Max introduced last year.

According to a report by DigitTimes in Asia, Apple plans to increase the use of periscope lenses in the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Due to this, some suppliers of this lens have been given more orders for them. Taiwanese lens module manufacturers Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical may be the major suppliers of tetraprism camera components. The iPhone 16 Pro models may have a 48-megapixel primary camera and ultra wide-angle camera with optical zoom capabilities. The iPhone 16 Pro Max may have a 48-megapixel Sony IMX903 primary camera and the iPhone 16 Pro may have a Sony IMX803 camera.

All models of the iPhone 16 series may have the A18 chip. Recently supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple has prepared to increase the energy density of the battery in the iPhone 16 series. This will make the battery of these smartphones last longer. The battery in these can be in a stainless steel case. This will also help the company to comply with the European Union’s rule of replaceable batteries in smartphones. Kuo said that the stainless steel casing for the iPhone battery will provide up to 10 percent more cell density along with meeting the safety requirements.

Earlier, Kuo had said that the stainless steel casing would allow the battery to be replaced in the upcoming iPhones. This will make it easier for Apple to comply with the European Union rules. Sunway may supply stainless steel battery casings for the iPhone 16 series. Tipster Instant Digital claimed in a post on China’s messaging platform Weibo that the size of the iPhone 16 Pro would be 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25 mm and weigh around 194 grams. The iPhone 15 Pro introduced last year had a size of 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.25 mm and weighed around 187 grams.
