The statement of the father of the victim of the rape-murder case in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has come. Talking to journalists on this matter, he shared many details. He said, ‘My daughter left for duty at around 8:10 am that day. She was in the OPD. Her mother spoke to her for the last time at around 11:15 pm. In the morning, when my wife was calling her, her phone was ringing but no one picked up. By that time my daughter had died.’ He said that the worrying thing is that no one needed her between 3 am and 10 am. Despite the fact that she was on duty.
On the protests happening regarding this case, the victim’s father said, ‘All those who are protesting on the streets are like my sons and daughters. My daughter is no more, but crores of children are standing with me now. This has increased my courage a lot. I hope that justice will be done.’ He said that we are with those who are protesting. When asked about the investigation, he said that I had a conversation with CBI officials yesterday. At present this case is under consideration, so I cannot say anything more.
‘Daughter faced problems’
The victim’s father said, ‘It is true that she had to face some problems in the hospital. Therefore, the entire department remains suspicious. Sometimes it also happened that my daughter did not even get time to eat during duty.’ It is known that protests are going on across the country regarding this matter. Meanwhile, doctors in New Delhi tried to march to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. They reached Nirman Bhavan to demand justice but were stopped by police barricades. Resident doctors from AIIMS, RML, Safdarjung, Lady Harding and many other hospitals were seen carrying posters and banners outside the Nirman Bhavan and raising slogans like ‘We want justice’ and ‘No safety, no duty’.

A CBI official said, ‘The parents told us that they suspect the involvement of many people behind the sexual assault and murder of their daughter.
