The swearing-in ceremony of the new government of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be held in Delhi on Saturday. Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena had sent Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation to the President along with a proposal to form a new government on September 21, which has been approved. Atishi will take oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday. Along with Atishi, cabinet colleagues will also take oath.
Atishi will take oath as CM on 21 September
Sources in the Raj Niwas said that Arvind Kejriwal submitted his resignation on Tuesday. Along with his resignation, a letter was submitted by Atishi regarding the formation of the government, but no date was mentioned for the swearing-in ceremony. Along with Atishi, six ministers will also take oath in the Delhi government. Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena had sent this proposal to the President. After the President’s approval, the swearing-in ceremony will be held on September 21 (Saturday).
Claim: Kejriwal will leave all government facilities in 15 days
Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh said on Wednesday that after leaving the post of Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal will once again live like a common man. He will vacate the Chief Minister’s residence within 15 days. He will also give up the security and other government facilities given to him.
Sanjay Singh said that it has not been decided yet where Kejriwal will stay. Kejriwal has been attacked many times. His security is at risk. Therefore, he was asked by party leaders to keep security, but he has decided to leave government security.
Allegations of stopping free facilities
The AAP leader said that now the people of Delhi have to think that if Kejriwal is not the Chief Minister, then what will happen to free electricity, water, education, health, bus travel for women, pilgrimage scheme for the elderly. The BJP says that these facilities should be stopped.
