Audi has announced the name of its new EV brand in China and you will be surprised to know that it has been named AUDI. However, there are some differences here compared to the main brand. The new AUDI name is made up of four bold letters and the company has not included its signature four rings here, which means its EVs will not see the four rings at the front and rear, instead Audi will be seen written in capital letters. Audi will operate in China in collaboration with local partner Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). Along with the announcement of the name, the company has also showcased the new AUDI E Concept.

Under this, three production models were previewed, which will be introduced in China from mid-2025.

The E concept, being developed specifically for the Chinese market, has a length of 4,870 mm, width of 1,990 mm and height of 1,460 mm. The wheelbase is 2,950 mm. The concept features a long hood, the design of which is slightly different from the style of the latest Audi AG models. The AUDI logo can be seen on the front grille in this concept. The concept has been co-developed by Audi AG and SAIC. Both the brands have prepared a special Advanced Digitized Platform, on which the upcoming EV models will be built.

The first of these models features an 800-volt electric architecture and dual electric motors. The powertrain is capable of generating a total of 764 bhp and 800 Nm. The AUDI E claims to reach 0-100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds. It will be offered with Quattro four-wheel drive and torque vectoring capability

Talking about the battery pack, the AUDI E will get a 100 kWh capacity pack, which claims a full charge range of 700 kilometers (CLTC test). The brand is also going to add rapid charging, which claims to drive the EV up to 370 km on a 10-minute charge.

A freestanding curved touchscreen display will be available in the cabin of the Audi E. Its software system is designed to provide a better driving experience with facial recognition and integration with the user’s personal devices. Production of the first model based on this concept will begin in the middle of next year, after which the brand will introduce an electric sedan in 2026 and then an SUV in 2027.
